Trimethoprim is a folate antagonist and can increases the risk of neural
tube defects. There is relative contraindication
for ciprofloxacin in pregnancy due to the possible teratogenic effect. Augmentin,
cefaclor, nitrofurantoin and metronidazole
are safe in pregnancy.
