Theophylline poisoning results in
profound Hypokalaemia, SVT and VT, vomiting, agitation and convulsions.
Activated charcoal is the method of
choice for elimination. Diazepam may be used to control convulsions
and Propanolol may help tachycardia and reversal of hyperglycaemia (however, beware of using it in asthma).
